No, we have not made a mistake. Klass, jawohl richtig klass (an Austrian superlative almost as nice as “leiwand”) is the taste of the pesto varieties from the Grossauer manufactory in the Kamptal.
Where is it? Not in Italy, that’s for sure. But look look, also in the Waldviertel you can pesto. And how! Stefan Grossauer shows here in the middle of one of the most interesting wine regions of Austria, what can be created under the umbrella Pesto so everything.
Meanwhile, the manufactory has thirty different varieties on offer. All made from regional products and always seasonal. Because we all know that what is from here and really ripe, that simply tastes best.
By the way, we followed Grossauer’s recommendation and got out of the pasta and pesto standard. And were thrilled. Because the pesto varieties from the Kamptal also harmonize perfectly with meat, fish or cheese.
