The base for HELMUT vermouth is elaborately handcrafted in the middle of Hamburg with fresh fruits and high-quality herbs and spices. This gives it an intense fruity note and a particularly complex and elegant aroma. The wines for HELMUT vermouth come from the Palatinate winery Bergdoldt Reif & Nett and were perfectly matched to the aromatics in close cooperation.
The minds behind HELMUT are actually Markus and Nils. Former colleagues. Friends. Career changers. And since 2017, two-man vermouth manufactory from Hamburg.
Before HELMUT, Markus was regularly on the road in Barcelona for work. There he also rediscovered vermouth for himself. Back home, not only the sun and the Spanish lifestyle were missing – but also the herbal aperitif. After 2 years of recipe development in the domestic herbal kitchen, HELMUT was able to launch at the end of 2017. At the same time, Nils also joined the start. And Team HELMUT was complete. To this day, the self-financed mini manufactory personally takes care of sales, marketing, CRM, accounting, production and actually everything else. That’s a lot of work – but at least as much fun. And it also has the advantage that the three of them still have the entire production process in their own hands.
