Vermouth:

The pleasure of vermouth is a real pleasure. To make vermouth, wine is mixed with wormwood herb – hence its name – and other herbs or spices. Thus, there are no limits to the taste composition of vermouth. Adding herbs and spices to wines has been common practice for thousands of years. It is not possible to trace back exactly when vermouth first appeared, although the herb has been highly prized as a medicinal plant since ancient times. Vermouth was first marketed by Antonio Benedetto Carpano in the 18th century in Turin, Italy.
