Chocolate love. Fine for snacking
At Chiemgaukorn, even those with a sweet tooth get their money’s worth. With the brownie baking mix of emmer wholemeal flour, beet sugar, chocolate flakes, cocoa, cream of tartar baking powder and a pinch of salt, you can bake about 15 muffins or a tray of brownies in no time by adding 175g of softened butter or margarine, 3 to 4 eggs and 100ml of milk. Using whole wheat flour creates a snack that is at least somewhat healthier and contains more minerals and nutrients than standard brownies. The emmer used, also called Zweikorn, is one of the oldest cultivated cereals and comes at Chiemgaukorn like all other cereals from their own organic fields in Chiemgau. The manufactory is a strong advocate of sustainable farming, which means crop rotation that ensures biodiversity. Additives such as preservatives or flavor enhancers are strictly avoided. Instead of conventional baking powder, the brownie mix also uses cream of tartar baking powder, which does not contain the acidifying agent phosphate. In tartar baking powder, the tartar produced during wine production activates the leavening agent, for example sodium bicarbonate.
