A precious and very rare ouzo, distilled since 1892 in real manual labor on the island of Lesbos in Greece. Only highly aromatic anise from the Lisvorio region near Mytilini is used for distillation.
The selected anise is washed naturally by the sea current for three hours in jute bags in the sea on the coast of Lesvos, so that the essential oils can unfold and be enriched with real aromas of the sea. Only then the traditional distillation takes place in small batches of the own distillery.
The result is an enormously aromatic, intense, complex and deep ouzo with subtle flavors of the Greek sea and a real experience for any ouzo fan!
Enjoy with melted ice water. This is the best way to bring out the flavors.
Protect from light and heat.
First ouzo, then ice water!
The great thing about ouzo is its secrets. It has hidden flavors that only come out properly at the right temperature (about 8°C) and with a little water: First pour the ouzo into a short glass, then add half the amount of melted ice water. The unique, luminous cloudiness sets in immediately and the subtle aromas are slowly released. Use ice cubes sparingly. If the ouzo gets too cold, it masks its aroma.
Create contrasts.
The intense flavor of ouzo harmonizes best with strong contrasts. Therefore, enjoy it with strong starters and distinct flavor peaks. Salty, sour, spicy: tzatziki, seafood, sundried tomatoes, spicy meats. Greek cuisine is full of intense delights that go perfectly with ouzo.
Taste: Enormously aromatic, complex, intense, deep, gentle marine notes.
best for: pure enjoyment or for special moments. A true ouzo experience.
