The quinine for Le Tribute Tonic Water is extracted from Loja in Ecuador. Here the Countess of the Chinchonas treated her fever and constant headaches in 1639. After discovering its healing properties, she began distributing quinine among the poorest people in South America and Europe.
The remedy was so effective and became so popular that it cured even kings like Luis XIV of France or Charles II of England. While most other tonic waters use artificial flavors for cost and manufacturing reasons, Le Tribute uses only natural citrus additives from its own distillery’s gin distillation, giving the tonic water its distinctive and unique taste.
