Amuerte Gin is a Belgian gin produced with exclusive and exotic botanicals and fourth generation with over 112 years of experience in gin making. From the first sight of Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin, you get the impression of something special and luxurious. Because with this gin not only the content plays an important role, but also the noble and lovingly decorated bottle comes into focus. The design for the handcrafted bottles were created by designers Havi Cruz and Adrian Dominguez, and were also finished with 24-karat gold leaf.
Even before the first drop of Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin, this gin is a special and unique experience. As for the content of the gin, a year-long adventure was necessary, with the aim of finding botanicals for a gin that will delight even seasoned gin lovers. The journey led to South America, to the depths of the Colombian rainforest. At a ceremony of an indigenous tribe, n coca leaves were distributed, which are also chewed by many locals. The coca plant is considered a medicinal plant and was revered by the Incas for its ability to cure disease, provide energy and satisfy hunger. It quickly became clear that the coca leaf, was the botanical for which the long journey was made. The bitter notes of the coca leaf and also its special status among indigenous peoples support this decision. Through years of experience in gin making, a gin has been developed around the bitter coca leaf that is balanced, noble and sophisticated.
The Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin Red has the same noble bottle design as the Amuerte Gin Black only with the difference of the red color. The same botanicals are used for the Amuerte Gin Red as for the Black Edition. Thus, juniper, cardamom, orange peel, coca leaf dragon fruit, tamarillo, papaya and Peruvian physalis are found on the list of botanicals of Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin Red. These are complemented by the exotic botanical Pineberry. Pineberrys are a type of small strawberries that taste like pineapple. This makes the Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin Red rather a more fruity gin, where the taste of the Amuerte Coca Leaf Gin Black is still recognizable. Thus, the bitter and citrus notes are complemented by summery and pleasantly fruity aromas of strawberry and pineapple. As with all other products of Amuerte Gin, here in the Red Edition the juniper notes remain discreetly in the background and the exotic botanicals are also in focus.
